Rainy Day Play

Yesterday morning a thunderstorm rolled in around 5am, and it rained mostof the day. Matthew was sad that we couldn't go to the pool (our original plan), and he really wanted to go outside. So we did. Did I mention that it was pouring?

We were outside for a little more than an hour. Searching for puddles to jump in, mostly.

If you are wondering, a neighbor with an umbrella covered the camera while I took these pictures. (I had it in my pocket but was scared to get it out...the ones below were taken under the eaves of the house next door)

And yes, we eventually did make it all the way to the park. We were the only ones there.

We're Back! And Eating Healthy

After a 6 week hiatus I might just be up to blogging again. Most of you are aware of what's been going on (shingles, brain infection, hospitalization, rehab, etc.) so I won't bore you with the details here.

I went back to work last week, Mom and Paul left to go back to California on Saturday, and life finally feels like it is returning to normal. Matthew returned from a weekend with his dad's this morning, and we had a fun morning at the park, and then this afternoon we headed out for a late swim at the pool. I didn't get any pictures of the swimming (I was in the water, too) but here are a few of our post-swim dinner poolside.

Mmmm. Pizza, hot dogs, and ice cream! Healthy and nutritious!

It's even better if you eat them at the same time.
